First, I asked to show your resumes, not comment on my writings of a year ago. Second, when did I ever say I wasn't going to college?

Here's my "web serveable" resume. Its longer than a page and all those problems and currently a rough draft as I just updated it with four years of information. I pick bits from this and clean it up when a situation calls for a real resume.....

Phice,
First of all, relax man, you have a great cross-section of professionals offering you advice as to how to best reach your goals. Nobody means any harm. These are all things that most of us have learned the hard way. Use what you can and discard the rest.
Secondly, if you post something in a public forum it is by default up for public scrutiny. Would you rather that no one said anything as you sat and wondered why no jobs were coming your way? Probably not. These are the types of things that make this an on-line community in my opinion. We raz each other, we help each other (and just about anyone that comes along and only hangs around long enough to get their problem sorted out), and we give each other advice good or bad, whether it is asked for or not.
You post well. you seem to code well, and you don't find it necessary to comment on every single post as some do. So relax man and chalk it up to a learning experience.

phice, Johnm makes some good points. It's the nature of the beast. We see something we know is wrong, we are going to say something. Like any discussion here, things go off track, they take a turn.
Don't worry, your respected here. I see enough of you and pretty much know that if you are handling something, you got it covered. I am pretty sure you know what you are doing.
No one has lost respect for you, we just want to give you all the help so you can do the best you can.

That's the common misconception about California (the Bay Area, to be exact). The cost of living here is double that of other parts of the nation, and that's one reason why the salaries are are lot higher. Most people think 6-figures is a lot and they can have a lot with that kind of salary, but that's just enough to get by pretty nicely here.

HAHAHA!
You know what?
I'm sitting on my butt in front of my Linux box and looking forward to move during november.
I am moving to a house...
...a small house...
I signed the contract thursday 17 oct 2002.
The deal is 60 000 SEK which is about $6000.
Why don't you guys buy small houses in the woods like I do?
You are just sitting at the keyboards anyways!

My CV can be found at
http://www.phillip.edwards.btinternet.co.uk
I have a degree in Computer Science (2:1 with Honours) and an HND in Mechatronics. Main languages are C++ and Java.
I seem to be totally unemployable, over qualified for an office job and not enough experience for a job worthy of a degree.
If anyone has a position for me around the Heathrow (UK) area which does not need 2+ years experience, I would be happy to know.
Thanks.
