No offense, but do you have any clue on how much a good PHP/PERL Application Developer goes for these days. If I could pay any of my 4 developers 15.00 per hour, I would be going to the caribean islands every month for vacation.

If you are going to pay someone 15.00 per hour, you will be getting a kid to develop your applications or someone that has no clue about what they are doing...

I'll take your job for $60/hr.

$15 is a very low price.

I've been doing php/mysql etc... for about 4 years now... my rates last year were minimum 35-50 per hour. You always tend to get what you pay for in this business so be careful who you hire at that price. Just my $.02...

But no link to your website? Does it exist? :? A web design company with no website?

I'd do it except:

1) I need to learn Perl.
2) School, parties, concerts and my life would ruin the 4 hours a day, except on weekends.
3) I'm 14, I'd need to get a job permit, but I still don't think I'd be able to do it.
4) 15 or less sounds rather decieving.

Is it PHP Programmer? I think it's PHP coder, or maybe scripter since strictly speaking PHP isn't a programming language, it's a scripting langugae...

It's PHP Programmer.

PHP is a programming language. It's also a scripting language. It's not a compiled language.

so what is the approximately right price???

We all have our price.
Good Luck at $15.
But what would be the right price for a PHP/Perl/Java programmer with 2years experience?

In the UK it looks to be about £25,000 - £35,000 a year (~$37,000 - $53,000 US). So that'd be about £13/h ($20/h) at the lowest for a PHP developer. So if you throw in the Perl as well then $15/h is a tad low. Nice website http://www.riverview.net/ too - the web hosting's very good they even support PHP3!

Mac

hmm the rate in MI is $30 not $15

yeah well some of us are out of work right now and aren't looking for anything major.
I'll do it for $15/hr. That's peripherals and xbox money to me.

BTW, if you are using a structured language to create logical constructs that solve a problem, you're programming. I could care less if it's assembly, C or JavaScript. Text markups are different. They are more like simple instructions. No real problem to solve = no real programming...
