[For Hire] Web Site/Application Developer

Who Should Read This?
If you have an idea for a website but don't have the knowledge or skills to effectively implement it, then you are reading the right post. Though I am certainly willing to work with budgets and projects of all sizes, I am actively looking for jobs that have a budget of $200-$1000. My work is ideally suited for small business owners looking for a low-cost but effective presence on the web.

Non-Technical Description of My Work
Websites for businesses are necessary today; any serious business owner must have an online presence. When the web first started, you could essentially visit sites to get information. Now, with the advent and advancement of new technology, often these sites offer many different "dynamic" features: user account creation, e-commerce, easily modified product catalogs, calendars, forums, etc.
This is where I come in. One of the principles on which I firmly stand is: "If it can be imagined, it can be built and built well." If you have an idea of how you want your site to work and what you want it to do, I can take that from a "good idea" to a fully-functional website.
One of my selling points is the degree to which you can easily modify the sites I create. I build sites based on how much the employer (i.e. you) knows about how to create and manage a site. For example, if you want a website, but don't know how to write HTML, then I can build you a site where you only have to click and type to change the content of different pages. (It should be noted, however, that generally, the less you need to know to edit the site, the less flexible it will be)

Technical Stuff
skip this part if you don't know about current web technologies or you just don't care.
I specialize in using PHP as the server-side language (with a MySQL backend) and (D/X)HTML and JavaScript for user interfaces. Generally, a site is split up into two sections: content and content admin. The content admin part generally requires the user to have the latest version of certain browsers installed (common ones, Firefox, Safari, etc) but the content section will be designed to be viewed correctly by as many people as possible.

Other Details
Completion time, fees, and exclusivity arrangements are made on a project-by-project basis. What I can assure you is that I will only charge you for what I do. That is, over time, I develop useful "modules" (code that connects to the database, code that handles user authentication, etc) and, whereas most designers will charge you for it as part of the project, I will only charge you for the new code I had to write, not for existing libraries.
