[Job] PHP OOP Programmer | Los Angeles, CA | DOE

PHP OOP Programmer | Los Angeles, CA | DOE

I am looking for PHP OOP programmers, with at least 3 years of experience.

My client is a technology focused developer providing their clients with innovative solutions for high traffic websites. Their clients include Univision, ExpoTv and The Life Balance Network, just to name a few. They are looking for talented PHP programmers that have experience with building custom applications using OOP. The ideal candidate will possess superior communication skills, and has ample experience working in a team environment.

They are an easy going group of individuals and each individual brings a unique perspective to the office. They build custom websites in a group environment and rely on all of their team members to contribute on a daily basis. This is not a position for the weak-at-heart or lazy natured individuals. They get the job done and have fun doing it!

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience working with object oriented code, particularly PHP. Additional programming experience (Perl, ASP.net, Java, C++, ASP etc.) is helpful. The ability to read and implement classes as well as complete projects on time is very high on their list of requirements. However, the web is our medium and significant experience with XHTML, HTML, Javascript and CSS is a must.

The position is full-time with healthcare benefits, vacation time and a retirement plan. My client is only interested in individuals that are available to work in their facilities during normal working hours.

Desired skills:
- Proven understanding of major programming languages (code samples will be requested)
- Superior communication skills
- "Hand-coded" HTML
- Knowledge of current standards (PHP 4.0+, XHTML 1.0)
- Experience with MySQL 3.23+
- Knowledge of reading and implementing class libraries
- The ability to finish a project 100% to customer satisfaction

If you are local to the Los Angeles area, please submit your resume/portfolio, salary requirements, and a paragraph (or two) highlighting your skills/experience as it pertains to this job to mike@open-source-staffing.com

Thank you,
Michael J. Pearman

PHP 4.4.0 was only released on the 17th of last month. It's still very much the standard. Most major hosting companies are yet to go to version 5 .. because doing so will break lots of people's code.

Also, pretty much any job that requires you to maintain existing code will require knowledge of PHP4 and MySQL 3.23 .. and as one of the requirements is 3 years experience you'll certainly have that knowledge.
