I, along with Tim, am in the preliminary stages of DJ site which will involve pretty much everything we can with articles, equipment, a community/user base, etc. and are looking for other people to join us.

We are looking for:
DJs (past/present/future/wannabe's)
Music-lovers (for charts/reviews/etc)
Anyone else with a love for music, DJing, clubbing

Possible skills:
None required (full CMS will be at the deposal when complete)
PHP (to actually write the CMS and the rest of the site and mantain it :P)
MySql
HTML/CSS/DHTML (very useful, not essential)

And anyone else that feels they can bring something to such a site as what we are proposing.

Also, as we are still in the planning stages, everything from the content through to the design (and everything in between) is still open to discussion, so now is your chance to join the team and make this site how you'd want it to be.

Hope to here from you soon

Regards

For credibility, you might want to look into contacting radio stations around the country. Remember, not all DJ's just do Trance. The majority of DJ's work in a wide range of music. Many more DJ's that do clubs to main stream clubs. While this may not be your type of stuff, you don't want to lose out on this market.

I just say that because my father was a DJ (still is, though mostly retired) for about 10 years, and was a club DJ for one club for 7 years (in fact, it got to the point where he could point to someone sitting down, and say, "Watch, I am going to make him dance" and sure as anything, the next song, the guy would get up and dance. Now that takes real talent.

Jason: thanks for the pointer, that's exactly my reasoning for getting more people involved. Eventually, i would like to have, for example, a section for each genre each with it's individual 'editor' that is really in to that particularly type.

Is this like what you mean: <spam>http://www.pyband.com</spam> it is a site that I am working on with a mate and we really need it to take off in a big way, we would be interested in maybe doing some link exchanges or something with you if you wanted to.

Not really, we're focusing more on a community aspect of DJing, clubbing, music, and related areas. A link exchange would be cool. Just mail me a button or something and i'll draw up some kinda of affiliate section.

We've already started on the site (would be nice to any ideas you have if any - I'll give you the URl if you IM me or something), and the idea of mixes is excellent. Especially a few 'guest' ones from you. I already checked with the host we're looking at, and they cleared it (download only, I'm still considering/looking into streaming).

Cheers EW
