Not sure if this is the right place to ask, so mods feel free to move to wherever it needs to go.
Does anyone know of any good designers/companies? I have a project that I need a sleek design with multiple pages, and have come short on my attempts at finding one. I've checked WHT, but am afraid to put a request in the Design Requests area because it seems the only active people don't have a solid portfolio or seem to "specialize" in hosting company designs.
Any recommendations, if not a company, but a better site to find designers? Any help is appreciated.
No, I'm not looking for free work, but I'd prefer to not spend $1000 either (unless it just completely blows my socks off). I like the sleek "web 2.0" feel, but I want it to have more substance (and 2.0 feel seems to try to reduce content).

My business partner is a designer. He designed our site, the few things in the portfolio, and a bunch of others I could show you if you'd like. His designs are, oftentimes, "out there" as he's not exactly a web designer (he doesn't think in terms of HTML), so it's always interesting to program.
If you're interested, I could send him and e-mail and he could show you some of the websites that he's designed.
And he wouldn't charge anywhere near $1,000. Haha. That's overkill for design (IMO).

I looked at your site a while back when looking for a designer(s) to build contacts with. My concern was your portfolio appears to be three templates which easily could have been stolen from a template site like perfectory.com???superdezign wrote:My business partner is a designer. Usually a portfolio is something a little more genuine. It's hard to fake an entire web site/business and if you did you'd be worthy of my business anyways - cause thats alot of work.
$1000 is the defacto price I have found for high quality designers as they usually want $85/hour and 8-12 hours for 8-10 page web site design isn't totally unreasonable. It is a little high I will agree but...it's the market that dictates their prices not me.
Cheers

Yeah, but because our portfolio is small, we do most things cheap.Hockey wrote:I looked at your site a while back when looking for a designer(s) to build contacts with. We've done a lot more than is in there, but everything that we've done was while working for other companies (we needed the money :-p), and we weren't allowed to put our credits on the site. Of course, one-on-one, we're legally able to show people what we've done for personal portfolios, but not for our business itself.
