member chooses to read it.

DB Code
If you know what BB Code is, you'll know how this works, but if you don't, I'll explain.

DB Code is easy. It is basicly HTML written differently. IT shouldn't be hard to script this.

[image height=0 width=0]Image's URL Goes Here[/image]
That'll insert an image. The height and width can be changed.

[italic]Text Here[/italic]
That'll make the text inside of the "italic" tags italic.

[bold]Text Here[/bold]
That'll make the text inside of the "italic" tags bold.

[under]Text Here[/under]
that'll make the text inside of the "under" tags underlined.

[g color=green]Text here[g]
That'll make the text inside of the "g" tags glow. The color can be changed.

[link=URL Here][Text for Link here[/link]
That'll make a link to the website URL specified.

[quote=1]
That'll quote the last post. The numbers can be changed to go back even father. (ex. If the 1

was a 2 instead, it'll quote the post before the last.)

[c=red]Text here[/c]
That'll make the text a color specified. Hex codes can be used too.

That's all of the DB Code. if you have more ideas for it, please add them.

THAT'S ALL!!! IF YOU HAVE MORE IDEAS, PLEASE GO AHEAD AND ADD THEM!!

I would like this script done in appox. 4 months.
I designed a layout that you must script around. I'll send it to you if you want the job.

So, contact me:
sticks@gaminghighway.com

I'll be waiting your reply! ;)

:lol: :lol: ROFL - you have to offer something in return for people's hard work and time :!: .

Seriously if you want all of that for free:
PHPBB
Invision Power Board

Then modify the templates to make it look like you want it to.

Yes, I'm not dumb. DaBreegster Chronicles Database is my site's name. DB = DaBreegster.

I had someone doing this already, but he must've forgot.

For the amount of work you're looking for at the price you are looking for it at you would be incredibly lucky to find anybody stupid enough to do it. Seriously, just modify the templates of one of the free boards, add some hacks for the additional functionality you want or pay proper rates for your own bespoke solution.

Realistically, to get a secure forum operational, you are looking at well over 700-1000 man/woman-hours. To get the bugs out of that you're looking at twice that timeline again.

Want a sole coder to spend a year and a half creating something adequate?

Or perhaps you might put your trust in some of the fore-runners of the language and just use their already coded + tested + distributed application.

If you are offering £50,000 and above to each coder you enlist to the project, you might get something worthwhile.
If not, just understand that you are not going to get Rasmus Lerdorf sweating his posterior off for you when he knows, we know, they know and 'you should know', darn decent applications already exist.

Well, it seems you guys do not belong to the open-source movement...

Whichever movement you belong to, I belong to the same movement you belong to! I don't believe in working for peanuts or for donations either!

But at the same time, let us give credit to some open-source people who have created really GREAT software and are distributing it for free..

Like the forum software we are all using: PHPBB! Isn'it marvellous?
