Hi there,
Let's just start off by letting you know what skills this job will involve to save any of you wasting your time.
This job will require:
*- I need someone experience with linux, because when the user pays for their hosting their website is automatically created and sends them the website information, please take a look at WHMCS for reference.
*- Highly experienced PHP/MySQL Programmer (Security, good coding structure is high priority)
*- Good Javascript skills (not hugely required)
*- Paypal IPN (Integration process not entirely important)
*- The CMS included will need to be easily structured for the ease of added features in the future.
*- This job is on going and will be a set maximum of 50 hours per month, meaning i need the candidate to have atleast a spare 10 hours per week.
The right candidate:
I don't really have a budget but i would like to make the payments on a monthly basis through paypal. I don't want to get into the contract side of things so i'd like the candidate to have a good reputation and is reliable at meeting deadlines, easily contactable. I've opened my own web hosting company, so any profit made from that goes straight into this project, as it's going to be bigger with a wider profit margin.
*- Should be fully English preferably located in the UK, but i'm happy to accept American applications if the candidate is able to be easily contacted through email or MSN.
*- I'm looking for quality coding for the money rather than not as experienced coding for less money, but again the hourly rate should be a reasonable one.
*- Someone reliable, always has access to emails is preferable.
*- Someone who currently has a full time job, but would like a couple of extra hours work on the night.
*- Again this project is long term, and will probably run through out this year.
Programmers Benefits
*- A good secondary monthly income.
*- I'm very easy to work with, also very reasonable so if there's a week you can't work i'm happy to push it over the next month.
*- This job is perfect for someone looking for an extra income, i'm not going to pile on the work so if you feel you only want to work 5 hours in one week, that's perfectly fine by me.
*- Huge bonus at the end of the project, plus the chance to work full time on the project itself, great benefits ££/$$
The Project
I've not said an awful lot about what this project will be, all i can really say at this time is it's to do with gaming clan websites, i want to create a website so clan leaders can purchase monthly hosting plans, but at the same time choose from a premium range of free clan templates and should be able to change the templates when necessary with ease. There is currently one site i know of that offers this service, please see http://www.xippy.co.uk for reference, take a look at their demo clan templates. The reason this project will be different because the plans will be cheaper and the template quality will be a lot better, including many more features.
I want the coding completed within a year, depending on the funds coming in and the time on a weekly basis you have will depend on this, if it can be done quicker by me raising my funds i'll do the best i can. The sooner this project gets started the sooner the hard work gets paid off as far as i'm concerned, but i'm looking for a full opening in January 2010 - earlier if possible.
The Plan
If we set a 12 month schedule, work on certain features every month and if it gets done quicker we can proceed quicker.
Month 1: During this month i'd like to work on the main website that's selling the packages, the main user control panel. Users should be able to purchase a certain package via paypal, then the website is automatically created and the details are sent to their provided email. From there the website admin can login and edit configurations for their clan settings. The clients profile will be created and they can edit their contact addresses and payment methods.
Month 2: Feature implementation on the main admin panel side, we're going to start simple and work on a few features then as time passes we'll include more, but what i'd require is a main secure admin login, then a few settings that the admin can view / change, such as a members list, all the websites online etc.
Month 3: You can then spend a month, doing error and bug checks on what you've coded so far, making sure the IPN system works correctly and everything runs smoothly, you will also need to make a start on the main clan website features, such as user registration / login, creating the MySQL database structure to contain all the users details. The admin login should also be started this month.
Month 4: Implementing certain features such as member list, user profiles containing details about their gaming rig, favourite games etc. Would also like an IP/Email banning system implementing into the clan admin panel.
Month 5: Further work on the clan features, admin panel - managing downloads/tutorials/sponsors - add/edit/delete, not really huge features but is required. Configuration menu for the admin to change, such as clan name, website title, description, view member logs etc.
Month 6: Full review of what you've coded, further security implemation in the main website, check admin panels and user registration for bugs.
I'll stop there for now, but you get the idea and i'm currently writing up a full feature list.
As you can see it's quite a huge project and requires some master coding abilities, please let me know your thoughts through email: jamiehann[@]live.co.uk you can also add me to msn if you feel the need.
Please note, i'm not looking to start on this project for atleast two months, so the deadline will be a lot longer than specified.
I'm really looking for the right candidate and i know this can take time.
Type: Monthly Payments
Position: Highly skilled PHP developer, with other expertise.
Scope: Would love a professional developer with multiple skills such as javascript, linux and xhtml/css.
Location: Online
Start: 2 Months
Duration: 1 Year
Rate: Specified Monthly Payments, will discuss fully with the correct candidate.

Re: Hiring PHP/Linux Programmer - Massive Project ££/$$ [ONLINE]
Hi Jamie!
First of all, I want to introduce myself. I'm the assistant for Mark McCorkle at Gambit Development. I've heard of Hannost.com and was impressed by the description of your upcoming project. This is a start-up company that really enjoys taking on projects involving media delivery, particularly the gaming industry. I'd love to hook you p with Mark. Depending on the contractor/work experience our current rates vary from $30 to $55, which is somewhat up for negotiation. We already have most of our contract work coming in from projects for David Perry. So the work you mentioned (long-term, limited hours per week) I found ideal. We have an arsenal of proven developers, yet want to grow this startup business at a reasonable pace. Your project looked like it had the capability to also grow at a similar pace. A recent completed project was a kid themed on-line virtual world similar to Club Penguin or Webkins. (http://www.tootsville.com) It involved creating an MMO using Java & PHP on the backend with opensource technology driving real-time user experience, delivered via Flash on the web. Mark is well-versed in internet protocols, such as load balancing and capacity planning. Please feel free to contact me if you're interested in having a conversation with him.

Re: Hiring PHP/Linux Programmer - Massive Project ££/$$ [ONLINE]
Hi sir
I have excellent knowledge of PHP and Linux and I can work for you for $5/h.
If you prefer a fixed per-project price please post a more definite description of your project on a popular marketplace for remote workers with an escrow/arbitration system like GAF or EUF and I will give you my fixed price and delivery time for it there.
My nick on GAF is “gandhi” and as you will see there I have an average feedback of 9.91/10 out of 183 previous works. I strive hard to reach total satisfaction in every project I complete.
If you’re interested in a fixed bid from me please send me a p.m. with the link to your definite project description.
Thanks
Gandhi
