Some my partners in Europe and Canada say that $15/h is way too much.
But at $15/h my company have lots of projects.

So you can say what you want --> but you are looser
and I and my customers are the winners

I could bag groceries for $15 an hour
you're the loser if you're at an expert level charging $15 an hour. thats comical

thats not comical, European market can offer $30/h maximum
I dont take in account companies like BMW or Audi because it is very rare to get project from them.
Canadian programmers work for $20-$27/h
USA .. hm here you can get project even for $50/h but they scare to work with East europen companies.
From other point of view if I can hire 10 persons at $15/h and have $5/h profit from each of them then my income is at least same as yours but I ahve 100% warranty that I will always on the market

whats is the current rate of conversion on euros to dollars?
I charge at least $30-40 per hour... thats also because I work full time as a php programmer and dont really need the cash so I only take projects that are worthwhile to me.
I imagine if I had to support myself freelancing I would take just about anything during slow times. I just think its good to keep moderate prices for the sake of the community. People can feed their families more readily if the market isn't saturated with low bidding.
On elance I see it all the time people offer to build websites for $150. That brings their hourly down to about $3

dont get me wrong though I think what you're doing is smart, taking a percentage off a group of projects
