Seeking Help

Post by SlatFats »

I am new here and I'm not sure if this will be welcomed kindly. I'm looking to get some people that are willing to work on a project that pays nothing. I have been pondering an advanced project that I would implement on my website. I know some PHP but not enough to be considered average at it. I need volunteers who know PHP and know the in's and outs of phpBB. The concept is laid out on my website's main page. Read about it at http://www.slatarena.com and join the forums if you are at all interested.

I hope this is acceptable here.

Thanks,
Ken

I've moved this to the Job Hunt forum as it's a bit more appropriate here.

Hey JPlush76 didn't post an offer like this . At least you willing to tell all your friends that about the cool programmer you got to do the job.

Hey I've got a great idea for a business I'm going to get every one else to do the work and I will keep all the money.

I'll be rich in no time. :D :D

Oh, did I mention that along without getting paid, that there will be no raises and no bonuses? Well, my intentions are not to make money off this deal. This will be a completely free site that will not charge for memberships and will not advertise at all. I just so happen have a wonderful web-host that gives me such a great deal that I don't need to seek payment. And, I'm not looking to take what anyone gives me and run with it like it were my own. If you weren't interested then you shouldn't have replied and mocked me. Thanks.

mocling

Post by phpScott »

sorry about the mocking but if you search the job hunt forum there are oddles of listings from people wanting programmers to do work for free, no payment, nada, excpet maybe the occasional hosting.

I just don't feel that if you are doing work for nothing then it is not a job but volunteer work.

Maybe there should be a forum for volunteer work or something simillar.
That way those of us who are looking for paying contracts can search one place and those of us who are looking to do some work for experience sake can do some where else.

I have done some little free projects through this site for non-profits or if the project intrigued me.

well, at the top of this thread you can notice that I didn't originally post it within the JOB HUNT forum...twigletmac moved it because he thought that would be a better place for it. I posted it in the general forum since I didn't think of it as a job either.
