i am developing a social networking site. what i want you to tell me is what features you recommend me to include in my application?

I suggest you look at the features existing social networking sites offer and see whether you'd like to include similar. If we simply gave you a list of features to include, we might as well write it ourselves :P

what kind of social networking site? most niches are already dominated by major sites.

i'll bet they even have myspace for ad&d players.

Santa: For Christmas I would like a CRM, CMS, PIM, CMMS, and many other expert systems built into your social networking site. :)

At one time 8-track tapes dominated the Music Industry though... what happened?

Find something that provides value to your users. FOr instance LinkedIn users are signing up on the hopes they can get a job, so they provides features that make it look like the user is going to get job offers by using that social network
