The official way is to pronounce it "My Ess Que Ell" or pronouncing each of the last 3 letters. But you can pronounce it "My Sequel" as well for all they care. ;) You can find this information in the OFFICIAL MySQL documentation.

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/what-is.html

Scroll to the bottom of the page.
The official way to pronounce “MySQL” is “My Ess Que Ell” (not “my sequel”), but we don't mind if you pronounce it as “my sequel” or in some other localized way.
Personally, I like to pronounce it "My Sequel". :D

thanks guys... I just REALLY hate mispronouncing things. When people mispronounce things when they're talking to me I always think "What a moron!" so I just don't want to be one of those people.

Personally, I try and minimize everything into it's simplest form...i'm that lazy... :P

Basically...If I can pronounce the acronym...I will...

MySQL = MySequel
SugarCRM = Sugar C.R.M
AdoDB = A-doe.D.B

And so on... :)

Then why not?

SugarCRM = Sugar Crumb
AdoDB = A-doe.Dub
