I changed the password to connect to the phpBB mysql database. I changed it with my server, and then changed the password in the config.php file for phpBB...
Is this all that I would need to update with phpBB in order to have it all work with the new password?
The reason I ask is I was trying to change user permissions for a member - they were set at admin and I wanted to drop them to user. When I did so, I got an error saying there was a problem in the sql syntax on line 391 of admin_ug_auth.php . When I looked at that, it follows a connection to the database, making me think I mustve missed something when changing the password.
I haven't adjusted anything for the phpBB forums other than the password variable in config.php to work with my new server password. I don't really know what is going on. There was another member that I changed from admin to user right before this last attempt and it worked fine. This one will not work, however. I can just delete the member from the database in phpMyAdmin easily, but still want to be sure the password is all updated for everything by changing that config.php file.
Anyone more familiar with phpBB than I am?
