Just want to raise a general topic to discuss here.

I have been switching from ASP to JSP and now to PHP.
The first switch was made when my employer was changed.
The second switch was made when the PM told me that there is security problem with JSP. However, when I asked this on the JSP forum, I was told that JSP has no worse security problem than PHP, but PHP programmer is cheaper. Personally, I don't like JSP that much when I need to put so much coding to implement a very simple file upload function.

However, I found that almost all PHP databasing stuff is using MySQL, while Oracle and DB2 have the biggest market. Does PHP support Oracle, DB2 as well as JSP?

Your comment is bestly appreciated.

PHP is simply the best....

PHP makes the world turn easy'r.

With oracle :?
With DB2
.NET

But MySQL is better then all the above.........

Cannot speak for JSP, but overall thinking PHP is superior to ASP in sheer functionality. Here is an article on PHP and DB2: http://www7b.boulder.ibm.com/dmdd/libra ... scott.html

There are others at that site. Interesting that IBM has been suddenly paying much more attention to developers using other platforms rather than Java/WebSphere since .Net was introduced....when I started with ASP 3 years ago, IBM + non-IBM stuff was as common as pigs with wings, and
info on how to do so was less common...
