End of the Forums

Post by jason »

Due to overwhelming hosting fees, I simply cannot cover the cost of keeping these forums up. Simply put, we have so many people that come to these pages these days leeching information, the bandwidth costs have sky rocketed.

Because of this, I regret to inform you that the PHPDN Forums must be closed down.

You may have noticed I haven't been around here lately. This is because I have tried to find other ways, ways to avoid this. However, in the end, I could not find that other way.

The forums will be closed down in the coming week.

Sorry for the news, guys.

Hopefully people won't think this is a joke, with it being April 1st and all. I can confirm the news is true :(

Jason,

I admit - I am behind this. I've held this site host-age, which increased hosting fees tremendously. Now, if you hand over all the admin rights, this site may live, if not: :( the smilie gets it.

This hoax would be more effective if not for the "ImHosted has graciously provided us with sponsored hosting" message just to the left of the announcement on the main forums page.

Of course, if you would like to stop managing the forums, I suspect you can fine someone who would like to host and manage them in exchange for posting paid advertising.
