Theme update

Post by pickle »

Update:

- Font sizes are now one 'pt' size larger.
- Clicking checkboxes in your PM list will now check the box rather than opening the message.

I don't think that would be a good idea without a majority vote by the users. SubSilver just has a lot of the usability stuff spot-on Wink Not that pickle's theme doesn't
Continuing from the off-topic thread...oops.

Default to new - not current - users. I like the theme so far, and it's just as readable as Subsilver which I have tended to impose on most forums if available...

One glitch that I found a little annoying is that onClick applied to row (on results/posts page) runs even when i want it to open it in new window (Ctrl+Enter or Ctrl+Click in FF). What it does is it opens both in the current tab and a new tab. See what you can do about it...

Hmm, not sure if that's fixable - but I'm open to suggestions if anyone knows how.

In FF, you can middle click the link and that'll open it in a new tab. Unfortunately, that only works when clicking the text, not arbitrarily anywhere in the row.

The "Icon Explanation..." and "Permissions..." boxes are quite nice. I like how the ellipses show that the link will explain more, instead of using "Permissions +/-" or something.

Hey pickle, I just noticed that locked topics do not display a 'Locked' icon on them. They still show a 'Post Reply' button. Just thought I'd let you know.

I don't think that has anything to do with the theme.

I think it has something to do with the forum code. When you use the 'Find all posts by user' link (for example, Feyd's) and you click on the page numbers, it shows that there are no topics that meet your criteria. I don't think this is a theme issue since I believe it exists in both subSilver and Sherbet. I think it is a page code issue.

When I click the "View more Emoticons" bit when making a new post the window that pops up has a black background, making some things hard to read and generally looking horrible.

I'm presuming this is theme specific and not supposed to happen :)

I'm using FireFox.

It's supposed to happen in that it's following the CSS properly. The CSS however....

I'm planning on making some updates in the next couple days - I'll post here when they're done.

Updates for August 2, 2006:
  1. Modified the header & footer files that are used for popups (namely the private message popup & the extra smilies popup) to make the pages readable
  2. As a corollary, updated the bodies of the aforementioned popups as well
  3. PRIVATE MESSAGE POPUPS: I know of at least 1 person who was waiting for this to be re-instated, so I did
  4. The RSS graphic is now vertically centered against the 'Powered by...'
  5. When viewing a thread, the comments now have padding - no longer will the text run right up to the side of the container
  6. Same goes for previewing a post
The only thing that I'm aware of that still needs to be fixed is the text that appears over the 'Post Reply' button in the PM section. Anyone know how to use CSS to keep an element visible, while completely obliterating the text inside? That'd be great.
