I always turn it off. Why? It saves on electricity bills. Besides, what would my computer do all day while I was not present? Play solitaire? ;)

hummm i voted only to reboot. My computer is a pain in the arse to say the least and requires a screwdriver to some special jumpers to get the thing booting again. I don't have the money for a case and even when I put it in a case it generally won't start at all. Needless to say my main computer is a strange piece of hardware and when I turn it off there is always a question of 'will it ever boot up again?'.

on a side note I am taking donations for a new computer. anyone that wants to contribute can send me a PM :P.

I start my computers (at home and at work) as soon as i need them and i only power them down when i don't need them anymore. At work that is when i leave the workplace, at home that is when i go to sleep. At work the machine just keeps running all day, at home i let the machine hibernate when i'm not around for more than 30 minutes...

I only turn my computer on at home when needed as I'm on wireless and having trouble getting WEP going.
I'm also cheap and can be bothered to pay for electricity when I'm not using it.

** darn those high electricity prices, when my parents come for visit I ask them to bring cheap electricty and Tim Hortons. :D hmmm timmies**

At work on when I get there, off when I go home.

I never turn any of mine off except to reboot. I found that the PC's really don't consume much energy, however the water heater is another story.

I once had a PC that was hard to start and I tracked it down to a bad keyboard wire.

I turn mine off every night, and whenever I need to reboot.

I sometimes turn it off in the daytime when I want to convince myself to not aimlessly browse the internet. :D

I turn mine on when I need it, and don't turn it off until I go to sleep at night.

On the rare occassion I leave it on overnight, only when I'm downloading something massive though.

Usually turn it on first thing in the morning and off when I go to bed. I also turn it off when ever I have to go out. Since I live in Florida, which has been misnamed the Sunshine State, I turn it off and unplug it during lighting storms too.

I turn it off every night usually. When i'm downloading stuff it stays on 24h/day. This has been the case for the last 5 days, I'm running out of disk space already. :?
