I think they have been suggested, and summarily negated, because of the subjectivity versus objectivity issue. I think it would be kinda cool to have a 'Best of ...' award. But I can kinda see the skeptics point: How do you judge something like that? Maybe consistency in performance, overall knowlege of the subject material, etc?

Either way, I am a pretty laid back participant in this community and could care less which categories are chosen. The mods have a great responsibility at this time of the year around here. May their ability to work together be enhanced for this project.

Sounded kinda deep-voiced, religious, huh?

I think the reason it was shot down was because those are automatics.

Yeah, but I thought since Feyd was a cyborg, mainframe and future version of yet undeveloped software, that he was excluded from the voting. Besides, since Feyd is the Matrix, he already knows who is going to win all the awards.

Oi. I resent that. Feyd wouldn't win a Best of GD award thankyouverymuch.

Code: Select all

<?php
$best_of = array();
foreach($best_of as $cat => $winner)
{
    if($cat == 'GD')
    {
        $winner = 'onion2K';
    }
    else
    {
        $winner = 'Feyd';
    }
}
?>
Ok, props to onion for GD. But everything else would go to Feyd. :cry:

So make a rule that says each person can only win *one* award.
