What do you say we have some fun with this one? How would handle waking up just before you are supposed to be 'on the clock'?

To be honest, my boss probably wouldn't even notice.
Real programmers don't comment their code. If it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand.

My boss is pretty laid back. He'd probably tell me to forget coming in and work from home.

Both my boss as my client (the company that pays my boss for my services :D) are quite flexible.. Building opens at 6 and closes at 22, but they do appreciate it if you're atleast a couple of hours available between 10 and 15...

I have to walk 30' to my desk...generally my only concern is walking in front of window without a robe...

My boss is really cool. I've been late a few times and he is generally pretty relaxed about it. Still, because it's just the way I am, if I wake up and realize I was supposed to be at work, I FREAK out and run to the phone to call.

Where's the option where you lie about why you're late and exaggerate how close you are?

"I'm like five minutes away, but this bus just exploded in front of us, so we have to take the long way around. See you in an hour."
At which point I go to Arby's.

Oddly, that never crossed my mind (though I did add in some embellishment on the first option).

Having things "explode" as part of any excuse in the current climate is not a good idea. Bus/London Underground "explosions" refer to London, July 7th 2005. Similar to using an excuse of "Plane hitting skyscraper".

I love working from home, even though you end up putting in more hours than you should...

So true. When I worked in the office, I did four hours a day. Now, once I get home, I'm working. It's crazy.

At my old job I ran like hell and drove super fast in my 95 buick centry the 40 minutes to work. I originally did not care but after being like 2 hours late like 23452345 times the boss gets a bit upset.

I havn't had the opportunity to come to work late at my current job

Owned.

I usually just go. oo; But I suppose if I was in a big important building or whatever, I'd call first.

Edit: This assuming I sleep. Sleep is for mortals.
