Hmm. wonder why my quote didn't work?
I switched to the subsilver theme. It seems that even the contrast on it has been reduced as well. I'm not color blind or anything but it's not very easy on the eyes. Maybe I'll get used to it.

Testing the quote...astions wrote:My thoughts exactly. Apparently the developer never seriously studied the accessibility part of web development. That theme is too bright, the screen too crowded, and it doesn't have good constrast. It's not really bad, just not comfortable for me at least.
Who is currently hosting the forum now?
Oh, and great job by all involved!

Now that is weird. Nested quote quoted the quote that did quote at first.
Not sure what to do with that.

Q
Radical, dude. Quite sleek.
Every crowd has a complainer (or complainers) :)
They will all explode in time, after getting used to it.
Awesome.
neither [syntax=php]or [code="php"] work. How do I highlight php?[/syntax]

Oh, now who would have thought that it would be under "View new posts"??? Sheesh!! I must be blind.Everah wrote:It is in subSilver, upper right, under "View new posts".
Re: Site moved... Again
I'm having trouble with the quotes, too. But I notice that my BBCode is OFF, despite the fact that I just set it ON in my profile. Maybe I have to login again?? Or restart Firefox?? Or reboot my computer?? Or ... ??
Oh yeah, and where are the smilies and all the other goodies??
But, like someone else said, I'M NOT COMPLAINING! The performance is great, so far, and that trumps everything else.

Re: Site moved... Again
I'm not sure what is causing the breakage of the bbCode stuff. I checked to make sure the users who are experiencing this problem had bbCode turned on and they did. I also checked the post to make sure bbCode was on. I edited one post and the quote was still broken. I am baffled at this point, but will still investigate it until we find out what is up.
Re: Site moved... Again
I switched to the subsilver2 theme and have the smilies and stuff back. Maybe it's just not part of the prosilver theme? I actually like the smooth appearance of prosilver, and unlike some others, I didn't find it hard on my eyes (and my eyes ain't that good, either!). But again, all these are just frills, the real important thing is that it's working smoothly now! Kudos to the folks that made this happen!

Re: Site moved... Again
It must have something to do with the thread, not so much the post(s)... I can't reply to THIS thread with BBcode turned on, but I went to reply to
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=77424
and it's giving me the normal post screen (enhanced editor, poll options, colours, etc)...
very very strange!

Re: Site moved... Again
The FAQ only says that there [i]are[/i] forum and topic icons, but it doesn't say what they mean--or at least, I haven't found anyplace that says. It would be nice to know what it means when the icon is animated, or has a solid color, or has a big dot on it, or whatever.
And while my BBcode works as expected in subsilver2, it doesn't in prosilver, which I actually would prefer. prosilver apparently isn't reading my profile.

Don - do you have bbcode turned off by default in your User Control Panel?

No it is one by default for him.

Here's the meanings of icons, as I understand them:califdon wrote:The FAQ only says that there are forum and topic icons, but it doesn't say what they mean--or at least, I haven't found anyplace that says. - animated - topic is 'hot' (contains a lot of posts. There must be some configurable threshold, after which topic is considered 'hot'
- topic has a dot (actually it seems to be asterisk) - you participated in this topic
- topic is red - there are new replies it this topic which you haven't seen yet
- topic has an exclamation mark on its icon - topic is stickied
