New PHPDN Favicon by mrvanjohnson

Post by jason »

Okay, not the worlds biggest news, but news nonetheless. Thanks goes out to user mrvanjohnson. If you have a browser that recognizes the favicon.ico, then you will see a new nifty little icon in your bookmarks. You do have us bookmarked, don't you?

Anyways, it's really cool, and I just wanted to say thanks.

Favicons are cool...they should however represent the site.
Why not an icon with 3 little spheres as in the logo of phpdn?

i could not resist in creating one..

Note: If you are using Mozilla, then it does get mixed up sometimes with which icon goes with which site.

Not that my life is greatly depreciated by not seeing it - neither in Mozilla nor IE - but it does bug me, that :P

It works fine in Moz Firebird, so I would imagine it's a IE problem.

I'm not seeing it in Moz (Linux, Win98, Win2k, WinXP) or IE (win98, win2k). Just tried viewing source and I don't see its link. Have you removed this?

For those of you having trouble viewing the favicon, these little buggers a notoriously finicky. Fortunately, they aren't a factor to the functionality of the site.
There are a few reasons why you might not be able to view it. Most of the time you need just need to make sure you have the page bookmarked. Then sometimes it will appear. I read that if you move your e icon around in your address bar, that sometimes it will appear. Although I have never had any luck with that. Also, I've heard of caching issues. Where if a paged has been cached, even with a bookmark it won’t appear. Most of the time I just let it go. Sometimes, it just appears, sometimes it doesn't.

For those of you who can see it, glade to hear you like it.

:-)

Is this sci-fi

I know I can send e-mails from php to an user or a list of users, but, is it possible to make the server send those e-mails in a given time and date?
Is it possible, simply stupid or science fiction?

lol, yep, what does it have to do with phpdn? :P.
