I am looking for some guys who would like to become a part of the team of new social network GigaCast (
http://www.thegigacast.com). Your job will be the
user support and
propagation and site
testing. If you will be really good in designing or php development you could become also a part of development team. Your reward will later depend on the type of the work, now it is just about volunteer work. Contact me via private message or e-mail me on
jobs@thegigacast.com for more info.

Most of us are developers or designers here.
But what makes thegigacast "the next big thing"?
You need to explain more about the project history, where you are now, and where you plan to be!

I've never been paid in a "reward" before
Seriously.. you have given us no reason to believe your site will be anything more than the 1000 other social networking facebook/myspace clones out there.
Typically, the "next big things" are well funded, well planned, well developed, and implemented well.. so again I have a hard time believing you.

True. But then again didn't Facebook Start Off as a Uni Project?
If you want to succeed you need a clearly shown USP - which, if there is one, is not apparent from the home page- otherwise like John said, it will float away with the masses of social sites that never made it.

Why it should not be something that you believe in. What do you miss in the description?

Not really, most of the "big things" you see today started from very humble beginnings and had some major failures along the way. Then again, they didn't claim at the time that they were the "next big thing", funny how things turn out sometimes

The idea is the most important thing, also timing.
But if you want people to help you with this project it's always nice to know a litte bit about your background, more about the project etc...

The thing I'm missing is what the point of the website is. Why would I use Gigacast rather than Facebook? What advantage is there to
me, the user? If I'm going to volunteer my time I'll need to know how you plan to survive with seemingly insurmountable competition.

Idea by itself is worthless. It's the people that make it happen. Thus far we haven't heard from Hack2er about his own value and what does he actually do.

Maybe I simplified my answer too much. Of course you need people to make your ideas happen, but there is no point of starting up an Italian restaurant when there is 10 others within a few blocks.
I mostly agree with what Paul is saying but I do think you need to have a sound plan and goal before you start building your restaurant. Maybe a restaurant is not the way to go at all.
However you can have the best idea in the world but nothing will ever happen if you don't have the right people for it.

What if all 10 are always crowded and there's obvious demand for more?

Then it is a probably a good
idea to start one.
My point is not coming across it seems.
