Nonprofit Seeks Volunteer PHP/MySQL Programmer(s)

Post by iloveschools »

iLoveSchools.com seeks several volunteer programmers who know the PHP/MySQL environment as it relates to the ZEND platform.

Our nonprofit matches teachers and schools with donors of new, used and in-kind resources. This is a zero-cost service for educators. And we make sure that it stays that way by keeping a small staff and relying on amazing volunteers who donate their time, talent and enthusiasm toward the cause.

We need any or all of the following:
• Custom API
• Increased reporting capabilities
• Dashboard/analytics
• Additional site features and functions (e.g., online resource library).

What you get in return:
• Flexible volunteer demands and hours
• The ability to volunteer remotely
• Strengthened pro-bono portfolio
• The knowledge that you’re work directly impacts schoolchildren and improves education on a local and national level.

If you are interested in this pro-bono opportunity, we would love to hear from you! Contact larnet(at)iloveschools(dot)com.

Does this involve the public school system? F*** the public school system. It's a failed system and should be left in the dustbin of history. I wouldn't donate 2 seconds of my time to a public school.

I would however be willing to help out a private school from time to time.

I attended public schools my whole life...yes they are flawed but so is every system in one way or another.

Everything is only what you make of it, so if something fails YOU it's probably your fault, not the system itself.

Cheers,
Alex

Stay on topic please.

JakeJ, your personal feelings about public school system are kind of irrelevant, and expressing them here borders on violation of unwritten rule of these forums: don't discuss politics here.

iloveschools, when you speak of a 'national level' on an international forum like this one it's generally advised to clarify which nation you have in mind.
