Looking for a php Mentor

I am in the process of rewriting a php-based app which has been in use for almost 3 years and need guidance on the "right way to do it" this time so the project is scalable enough to handle many different client needs.

It is a multi-step form wizard which accepts reservations for events. It very much looks like a Turbo-Tax type thing that walks the user through a series of 12 or so screens (forms) then hands them off to PayPal or Google Checkout to 'close the deal'.

I have read and read and read about OOP but can't get one object to talk to another and have essentially given up on that for now ... but would like to use the very compartmentalized function-based kind of writing with very specific tasks in each file just to keep everything as orderly as possible.

Are you experienced in php / mysql app development (with a LITTLE javascript & jquery thrown in for good measure) and willing to look at this project - offer suggestions on how to proceed / what to consider? This is more consulting / guiding / mentoring - not writing the code for me!

If so, please contact me by private message ... I have a big bucket of undying gratitude and self-satisfaction for helping a fellow php'er to offer, but that's about it right now.

I would gladly pay it forward and/or assist you with specific projects in the future!

Thanks!

Jeff
