Movie/DVD review site looking for volunteer coder

Post by punkandjunk »

So I realized that the only reviews for movies, specifically DVDs are from amazon.com or a newspaper or other publication. I thought it wouldn't be too overdone to have a site like that.

I'm looking for someone to donate thier php/mysql talent to making the core of the site. That person would be welcome to become a reviewer as well. I can't justify paying for this since there's no way I can make money off of it anyways. This is purely for the love of movies, DVDs and sharpen writing/communication skills.

Only staff could write reviews, but I'd like users of the site to have the ability to add comments to each review and give thier opinions.

If you're interested, email me at tony@punkandjunk.com or AIM PnJMaster

Actually sounds pretty interesting. What would the site be called? Url? I assume you are providing the hosting, etc?

I was toying with a few names. dvdrootmenu.com flixville.com something like that. I'm switching hosts on my current site and the new host allows up to 5 separate URLs to be hosted there. It's 500MB and my site really only needs 90-120MB so I figured I could play with the rest of the space and get a new hobby. Maybe it'd take off good.

http://www.sunwave.com/ is the host (or will be rather)

I bet PostNuke or PHPNuke could be modded easily to make this site.

Just an idea...
