Joomla/PHP/MySQL programming needed for education site

Post by nekapoor198 »

Hello!

I work with a non-profit called the Learn To Be Foundation (http://www.learntobe.org/). Our organization provides free online tutoring for kids living in underserved communities. We are a 501c.3 non-profit organization and we need some help on a portion of our site.

Basically, when a student wants to be tutored, they sign in to our website and fill out a quick form and after they click submit, they're taken to a virtual classroom. At the same time, a text message and email are sent out to all available tutors and whoever comes to the site first can pick up that tutoring session. If you sign up for an account at learntobe.org, you can go to the students section and schedule a session to see how things work right now.

Now I've implemented this for our site, but I am definitely not a "technology" guy. I just kind of picked up some stuff on the fly and made things functional. But we do have bugs and I don't know how to fix them. My code is very unattractive and it makes debugging painful, to say the least.

So what we're looking for is somebody who has good knowledge of PHP/MySQL and Joomla (our site is built on a joomla 1.5 template) and can implement a scheduling system for us. I hope this is enough detail to pique the interest of someone! Thanks a lot!
