Teaming with a 'tech' volunteer stie might be a good idea for this dev forum. There are lots of opportunities to help nonprofits/charities all over the world.
Setting up basic websites with cms backends (*nuke, xoops, mam*) and teaching the charity workers how to use them is a great way to test your skills do a good thing.
http://www.it4communities.org.uk/ is a good example.

Rgr it4communities was made a sticky link some time ago.
Not so sure how helpful nuke might be

but I agree in general it would be good to encourage peopel to help not for profit causes. Did you have anything else in mind other than featuring some links?

I'm developing a site for a non-profit and am incorporating some content management features. They are very pleased with it and I want to expand it and offer similar systems to other non-profits tailored to their specific needs.
Anyone interested in collaborating on such a project email me at
jredd@pocketmail.com and I'll send you the url of the demo site so you can see where I'm at in the development.
Thanks,
Jim Redd
