PC-Gaming of course.
I recently came up with idea of creating a public-based PC-Gaming website. The idea first hit me months ago ever since all the gaming websites started required membership, registering, and other irritating procedures.
gameNET will approach PC-Gaming in a different way. Instead of giving the public direct answers, and taking on a authoritative role, gameNET will incorporate itself within the public. Everything on the site is anonymous, meaning there is no need to register at all. From posting comments to asking for help on tech. boards, the annoyance of registering will no longer exist. We will also host large amounts of downloads, videos, trailers, and more, all without membership or logging in. We already have a host set-up, and will soon be purchasing a domain.
The project is strictly volunteer, and I am therefore asking anyone here if they would like to devote a little time to this project. This is mainly for fun and the frustration caused by most PC-Gaming websites.
What i need are people that are good with web programming, especially PHP. Since the website will consist of a large database of many games, I need a way to edit each game's main area (area containing reviews, previews, and screens for that specific game), via a php editing system that can be accessed with ease. We would also gladly accept writers, previewers, tech. moderators, and news posters. gameNET isn't a big corporation trying to make money from advertising, we are just trying to bridge the gap between gaming commercialism and actual playing.
email me if your interested or just post.
Here is the site (a little flash i made outlining it's purpose)
