pawpets.net internet game [closed]

Post by Jade »

Hey there,

On August 21st I'm opening a new website called pawpets.net. In the meantime I'm looking for anyone interested in programming for this up and coming internet game. I'm expecting about 10+ million hits a day for this game -- as I already have a lot of interest in it. Preferably I'd like someone to volunteer their time to help me get the last few scripts done in time for the debut, but I know thats not realistic. So I'm willing to pay a low salary if you won't work for free and I won't hold that against you. Please let me know if you're interested.

Hey there,

Let me give you a little background info on the game first. Its a game where people create their own pets in their own pet store and then compete against other member's pets. Basically its a spin off of neopets, pokemon, and those little hand held pet games.

Scripts I could use help on:

Supply Stores - members can setup and create their own supplies and run their own little supply store by setting prices, etc. I'm also planning to have one main store where members can go to buy items, food, etc. for their pets. Basically its like a mini shopping cart that randomly selects items from a database. Members can buy these items, view/delete their shopping cart, and checkout.

Catching Pets - members use use items they buy from the stores to capture escaped pets. This would be a pretty easy script, the stronger the item is the better a chance they have of catching a pet. They aslo have the option to search for pets they once owned that have escaped.

Competition Script - pets have 12 areas of strengths/weaknesses. Basically you'd have to figure out which pet has more strengths and make it the winner. Also, members place bets on their pets to see which one will win. The owner of the winning pet gets the bet amount added to their account.

Search - this is really self explanitory. However, this is gonna be a huge search script. It'll let them search for pets, items, other members, pets for sale, pets for trade, pets that are looking to compete, etc.

Training - members can train their pets in certain areas of their strengths/weaknesses. Initially this will be php, but I want to make these into actual flash games that members play to get their pets stronger. Right now it can be something really simple that randomly says how well the pet does, or something like that.

Caring for Pets - members use the supplies they buy to keep their pets healthy. Pets that aren't healthy die. This would just delete or reduce the item after they've used it on their pet.

Equiping Items - members can equip their pets with items to make them stronger where they are weak. All this does is adjust the pet's strengths/weaknesses before a competition. Other members can't see what items a pet has equipped to make the game more interesting.

Thats basically it. I have a month to get this all done. Any and all help you guys can offer would be 100% appreciated.
