Scripters Needed for VP Game

Post by tpchristp »

Hello,

I am the owner of a new petsite called TeriPets. (http://www.teripets.com). TeriPets is about five months old and has grown steady for the past five months to having about 22,000 members registered now. Lately because of the lack of programmers we have working for us our popularity has extremely gone down. We currently have three PHP programmers, including me. We are all very busy and we are in desperate need of help...

The coding is fairly simple, it is basically just PHP working with MySQL and its nothing that is too difficult. Its a fun job and for people who get into the job or the game or both its really a fun thing to do. We have an excellent team of staff members and moderators who work very hard. We also are blessed with some great artists, so the one thing that the site is lacking is a strong PHP developers team.

If you are to become a coder for us we require that you have atleast a basic knowledge in PHP and know what your doing ;). No age requirements or specifications! Please contact me if you are interested!

Thanks!

Hey,

Currently the site cannot afford to pay anyone, since the revenue that is earned from advertising goes directly to pay for the server. So for the time being this is a volunteer job. And we ask that once coding is completed that the codes aren't given out free to other people. Its just a great place to get some experience and use as job experience on your resume :)

I've had experience with this site and I would not suggest it. I ran into conflicts with the staff a short time ago and didn't agree with their method of dealing with problems.

As for anyone interested in working at a virtual petsite(for free) be prepared to work lots and have little to show for your work in the future(compared to other things you could do).

If you like playing virtual petsites then this would be a good project for you but if you aren't interested in "playing" the on the site as well as developing it I would not suggest it.

Thats just my 2 cents worth.

projects here normally are alot more popular and people are alot more willing to help if it was open source.

webdummy who are you?

Yes I know but the way our site is run it can't be an open source project... And yes working at a virtual petsite is a lot of work I am not trying to hide that, but it still can be a lot of fun, especially if you like to play the game...

I don't think it was you I talked to. I think it was a guy going by "king".

I don't wish to pull this thread off topic however. You have the right to post here because you haven't broken any rules. I'm simply speaking my 2 cents worth.

Yeah lets just keep this topic on thread, however I know everyone of the coders that have worked for us and I am pretty sure that you never did work for us...

Well anyways...
