You would be the first person i meet that has a MySQL configuration that performs twice the same statement although it wasn't asked to do so. That is (imho) a good reason.

Given the fact that you mention a timedifference of two seconds between the statements i've got the feeling that it could be related to some (unwanted) redirection that explains why the code is executed twice..

I suggest that you place all the code (also included files) somewhere on your site so we can have a better look.

After running it through a series of tests again I have come to the conclusion that my "fix" didn't actually fix. I was very surprised when I did think it worked but just passed it off as being a quark in my session handling. Supposedly the duplicate rows only appear once in a while; and I have been unable to pinpoint when they will occur.

feyd - could you please move this thread into the 'volunteer' category? I will take timvw's advice and allow someone to view my entire code.
