Help Rebuild OsCommerce
Moderator: General Moderators
I believe the network issues have been solved, however I have decided to switch to jaguarpc.com. This is going to cost about 5 times as much per month but I anticipate a much lower server load average and increased speed, especially for the WIKI.
I'll keep you all posted and let you know when I migrate it to the new server. If there is anything I should know about moving the WIKI please let me know.
ALSO, I imagine I can turn on uploads for certain members in the WIKI so images don't have to be hosted elsewhere. Any comments on this?

Updated my Gantt chart: http://www.ooer.com/onion/dnsGantt2.png (made with my sexy new gantt.php script!).

I have an idea, tell me what you think:
The Network Store admin can control the store with a web based control panel which is hosted on his server.
I think that we should add a "remote" control to ease the administration of the store.
Moreover, this feature will attract people to our project!
P.S
I built a prototype of this feature (Java).

Not sure I understand what your idea is. The store is an application that people will install on their own server. It'll need an admin control panel, but that will be part of the store application .. obviously that will be on his server along with the rest of the store. Perhaps you could write up a more complete description and add it to the Wiki.ok wrote:I have an idea, tell me what you think:

Everything in the store will be pure PHP, HTML, CSS, and possibly JavaScript depending on how the developers feel about JS. Java, Flash, etc should only be used as part of plugins, not the core application.ok wrote:P.S

Yes, that is what I mean!i think ok talks about a desktop application administrating the store through a defined api.
And, yes, it will be a plug-in.Everything in the store will be pure PHP, HTML, CSS, and possibly JavaScript depending on how the developers feel about JS. Java, Flash, etc should only be used as part of plugins, not the core application.
Basically, the plug-in will act like server (or like Google Desktop). If you use this plug-in, you can access to the control panel
by starting the plug-in and then enter "127.0.0.1:6489" in the browser's address bar (it will be look like the control panel
placed on the server).
Can I join in? Im interested in participating in the code development and also possibly design -- although I see you got the design ground covered.
