Patterns For PHP: Contributors Required

Since I've returned, thought I'd throw it back out there for volunteers.

Patterns For PHP is a website dedicated to promoting Design Patterns in PHP. The website is in the form of a wiki (MediaWiki 1.7.1 currently) which is publicly editable. The site is strictly ad-free and primarily being done as something as a contribution back to the PHP community.

Currently there are two Administrators, myself and Ambush Commander. Since it started we have published six Pattern tutorials, with one currently pending (Decorator). It is envisaged to also publish shorter Pattern definitions in addition to the longer tutorials.

We are currently seeking contributors to:

- write Pattern tutorials
- write short-form Pattern definitions
- produce UML diagrams for both articles and short-form definitions
- offer suggestions on the site's future

We recently opened up some forums to facilitate public feedback, and offer a place for contributors to discuss articles, and offer feedback on those already existing.

If anyone is interested in contributing, or just offering some words of wisdom, they can visit us over on http://www.patternsforphp.com . There are a lot of Patterns to be covered obviously so any help is appreciated.

I'd be much more than happy to help, but I can't write tutorials as I'm one of the readers myself :P
If there is anything else I can help, just tell me.

Weirdness abound on Dreamhost...

The site is down temporarily for maintenance. Back up soon.

A couple of related questions not to post new topics.

1. What is the benefit of joining "Community Composition Contributors" group? Is there a separate forum or something :)
As I am a member there but....well I just who else is :)) that's it :)
2. You say currently pending Decorator....I couldn't find one template/guide on how to provide template. How is it decided if given pattern is presented ok?

To the first, I assume you're referring to the Devnetwork Book project? This is separate from the PFP website, although some of the material may coincide in the future. The PFP forums are specific to the PFP website...

To the second, the forums for PFP will be used to discuss just that topic in time. The current articles are all drafts open to future editing for a standard layout. Most were posted and received subsequent changes by several other contributors - no formal template as yet. As things roll along, such areas will be clearly documented.

Unfortunately Dreamhost appears to be oddly slow in performing several "automatic" tasks and it's put the site offline. I've forwarded them a support ticket to address the problem. Since I'm on GMT here in Ireland the site will be offline until tomorrow morning. Bad timing to post a volunteer request and have the site go poof just a short time later... :?.

To rub salt in, I tried linking to the Internet Archive content and got the following message...:).
The Wayback Machine service is experiencing technical difficulties.

Thank you for your patience while we restore this service.
I'm glad not to be too superstitious...
