I'm a student currently enrolled in Advanced Diploma Computer Science. I have programming experience in ASP.NET C#, and now shifted to PHP and want to build a complete web application.

I want to develop an Ecommerce Portal for myself. For this, I need two to three developers who could help me with tips, tricks, and guidance plus code snippets, scripts, etc, which I could learn from, or they could help me develop this project together. I want to do this project to learn whatever I could face in developing a web application.

I'll provide details later about the Requirements. I am willing to work on this as a professional, and I want the volunteers to be available online or communicate regular through email and are really willing to work on this project as a team. The benefits for me is experience, and reference material for future jobs, and for you it can be the same or maybe more. We'll build it from the ground up.

Contact me if you are interested: waqarrehman@gmail.com

If this goes well, we may work as a team in future as well.

...or you could just post your questions and problems in our forums and get the combined knowledge of a lot more developers.

Why not just join this team. They are working on something very similar. Good luck with your project however.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "an ecommerce portal", but I've estimated 40 weeks development on Dev Network Store for a team of 10 (although obviously that's not full time or anything).

What i mean by E-Commerce Portal is, a portal with features that an ecommerce website needs, such as some content management, news module, advertisement module, payment and cart module, products and categories, admin section, stock inventory, themes, etc.. all these things, a web application for an e-commerce site, however, as i want to build such software that could be used again and again for ecommerce websites and should be simple enough. i know there are scripts already available, phpNuke, postnuke, etc which are good for content management, and os-commerce is a good cart, however, im interested in building skills. ofcourse, i could use these ready made scripts to save time, but this i want to do to learn how things are done from the ground-up.

Building such a list of modules in three months is a monumental task, especially so from scratch. Even for a rather large team of highly experienced programmers, three months is very tight. Voluntarily, triply so.

it may take time
