Ranking System

Post by maretti »

First of all, what I am looking for is a volunteer, if the work is done well can there however be many more jobs in the future, paid work that is ;)

Seeing it is just a ranking system I doubt it will be much work, and most of you probably already know how it should be looking...

This ranking system should include at minimum the following:

- a rating system
Every IP adress is allowed one vote per X days per game listed.

- an "activity" system (this one might be more tricky, I couldnt know really :D .. only know the basic php)
When you visit a site it is recorded, a site like http://www.alex.com record this (IP adresses visiting a site for X number of days), I would believe it to be rather simple to get hold of seeing they can do it for practically every single site... The activity system would give a number of visitors the game has, showing those looking through the ranking list what games are big and what games arent.

- a suggestion system
Everyone visiting the site can suggest a game for the ranking list without giving an email, just a title and message.

- a complain system
Sort of the same as the suggestion system, everyone visiting the site can add a complain regarding the games listed without giving up any information (email, name etc..); it could be the name of the game listed is wrong, the link is broken, or the description is misleading, lacking info etc...

The layout:
I would prefer blueish, medium light colours... but Im not critical about this, as long as the design is simple and userfriendly.

Game Information:
Every game will have a picture, which will be used to put in either a logo, screenshot or whatever from the game. A description; a contact mail; creators; activity per X days; rating; is it free to play?; genre; interface(texed based, board based and so on); etc...

Search option:
The ranking list should allow search to take into account rating, activity/visitors, genre, free to play? and interface.

---------------------

If you are interested in the exact use of this is it meant to focus specifically on simulation games, both browser based and board based, but can potentially expand from there.

---------------------

Interested PM me or write here :) .. if you feel it is to complicated to be done for free we can discuss it.

And what license do you intend to distribute the software under?

Well if you mean if we would have exclusive rights on it, then yes, I would imagine that would be the best...

It sounds to me like you want someone to build a business for you. Let you drag in the income. Then once you built up some cash pay the coder to make more sites.

If so. Goodluck

really thats not the intension, I am the manager of a game for which there lack a working rank system...

Besites is there really no income possibility in this market unless you come up with some revolutionary idea... seeing it is all but filled up...

But if the work load for doing this minor project (as it seems to me) are greater then expected can I ofcourse discuss a sallery for doing it...
