I'm just going to keep this really simple.

PM me if the following criteria apply to you:

You are a college student living in the Boston area
You have a strong, solid backing in PHP/MySQL, Javascript, CSS, and all that good <span style='color:blue' title='I&#39;m naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span>
You are also very well grounded in Java
You are a creative/artistic type
Your name is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer*

Thank you.

Why on Earth would someone PM you? What is this all about?

I'm tempted to remove this post unless you can specify the nature of your "volunteer work"

Go for it. Whatever, I didn't think I'd get a response anyways.

Sorry.

As some advice, I don't believe having that attitude will get you anywhere in these forums or anywhere else for that matter. He made some very good points - we can't volunteer for something we don't know anything about.

Sorry, I didn't realize I made such a vague post. Something about being awake...

Either way...

I'm trying to start up a small design firm in order to fund [ourselves, and] the development of a large scale web application.

I can't do it on my own. I need help. I can't offer money off hand, but I can promise that one's involvement makes them an immediate partner. I can also promise that I'll be a super friend. We can go on bike rides and and sing songs and play patty-cake together.

The project involves creating a community site that allows artists of all mediums to collaborate on, create, and share their work.

I need college students (like m'self), and preferably creative/artsy people. I need people who live in Boston because I'm set on the fact that the only way to execute this properly is if we can work in the same space together.

I say I, but I really mean we. My partner handles all things graphics/design/etc. However, he lives in New Jersey so I work over distance with him.

"But wait, that's a contradiction to what you just said two lines ago!"

Yes, I'm aware of that, but he's the co-author of this project and he is the lone exception. (He's also my bestest buddy in the whole wide world!)

I'm not looking for gurus looking to make a buck, or freelancers looking to get in, get out, and get on with their lives. This is a deal for the long-run. I need like-minded people who can get serious about a project, but who don't take themselves or life in general too seriously.

That's what the post should have included.
