Hello, my name is baovan and I a 39 year old Asian male, a husband and a father of 2 children, 8 and 6. With my family, I reside in a small city just 20 miles north of Seattle Washington called Lynnwood. By training, I am a civil engineer but I had always been interested in computers and the web. I started my first web project in 1997 with a recipes site called Bite Of Asia ( http://www.biteofasia.com ). Currently for a living, I am working as web site designer with my web site development business called Maika Solutions. ( http://www.maikasolutions.com ).

Up to now, I have done a lot and worked a lot. And lately, I have been thinking, what can I do to make a difference in this world. Finally after careful consideration, I realized that what I want to do is pursue my life long dream helping orphans in orphanages around the world because I once was an orphan. Thus, I started a website called gomaika.com. It is in the early stage right now but I want to started an online business directory for businesses both in the US and abroad. I have a business plan that could make this big which I will share once I found someone who has the passion for helping orphans join me in this endeavor.

I need a database (php/mySQL or Cold Fusion/SQL) or something that will work best with this project. My goal is to get this project up and running and eventually derive money from this project to help the orphanages. Also, with this project, I also want to use it as a tool to help teach the orphans about computers and the web and give them the skills to take care of themselves.

if you are interested in helping me, please respond.

Thank you very much.

Thank you for your response. Are you familiar with databases. I am trying to setup a database for this but not sure which one would be best.

Most people use MySQL.
