Hello,
I run a website at http://bottleweb.org, it's a project I started on my own last year while I was still studying, and at the time it totally absorbed my life but now I want to get it started again. Bottleweb is a not for profit (currently non-incorporated) organisation registered in Australia (although I now live in Britain). Currently it is a discussion board and and a wiki, but I want it to become an online journalism and discussion website, fostering creative thinking and producing articles about renewable fuels and the environment.
There are a thousand and one websites out there praising environmental awareness, but all of them encourage either scepticism towards global warming or activism against it. There is no one out there encouraging intelligent thought and discussion, and there is a clear demand for it.
I know how to create content that will interest people and with some help I know I can create a good website and reader base. From there I have a million and one ideas on what to do with Bottleweb, but one step at a time. What I need now is basically someone who knows how to drive a computer. In a prospective volunteer I'm looking for some degree of competency in the following fields:
php programming
mySQL
SEO
basic graphics/website layout
html
I intend to ultimately create mechanisms for income on the website, but that will be for the main purpose of further improving the website. I'm not looking for someone who wants to make money, but someone who is interested in working on a project that will make a difference and encourage intelligent discourse.
For the meantime, I encourage you to take a look at website, and get in touch with me on this forum if you are interested.
