Okay here is my delema.
I had Linux and Windows on the same HD, I had given 20 gigs to linux and the other 60 to windows. I took off the linux OS but the partion of that section is still there...
Does anyone know how i can give that 20 gig's back to windows or make it accessable by windows without reformatting my whole hard drive? like, put a FAT32 or NTFS partition over the existing partition.?? Im lost on this. Thought maybe one of the thousands of people who know more than me would know or give me advise.... thanks.

Powerquest partition magic is a good tool for such, resize and move partitions and all that.. Using strictly bill gates tools your only option is fdisk (or NT's diskmanager who doest know crap) and make it another FAT or NTFS partition yes (like D: or whatever)..
There are some free tools out there for such as well, GNU/Linux tools like QT-parted (based on parted) is excellent and can even resize NTFS partitions..
However, if I where to give an advice of advocacy and system stability/vulnerability I would say that you should remove the windows install or make that the minor thing...

lol, removing the windows virus could be a solution, however im just a 16 year old who cant figure <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> out.. computer classes at my school are a joke and even if they were decent they wouldnt teach linux. oh well though, they offer good classes for the local farmer kids..
I'll check into doing the other things you suggested. I'm just afraid of losing information on my larger partition. Hard to back up 30 gigs when your second HD is only 12 and full. Thanks
