I've read about almost all KDE editors are able to connect through ftp. I'm using Kate in Kubuntu, maybe who can tell me how to connect to remote server (like Notepad++ in Winodws can). ?

It's been a long time since i've used KDE but it used to be something like this.

Instead of a directory of

/home/me/stuff

Use a URL such as:

ftp://me@myserver.example.com/stuff

I think, it's better to mount the remote server locally. There should be a menu like "Places->Connect to a server" (I use Gnome, sorry)
or you could mount it "manually" - http://www.linuxconfig.org/mount-remote ... filesystem

Thanks for the replies, good amount of time went from my post, and I 'm again in Windows, because although Linux is free and has many many free applications, the editors aren't working good with my laptop because of some touchpad incompatibilities.
