Ubuntu is the best operation system I ever seen (and I used Windows XP, 98, Radhat, Debian, SmartCom).

P.S
Please add Ubuntu to the poll :D

I am looking for a new distro to try even as we speak. I am considering Gentoo, Ubuntu, Debian, SuSE and Fedora Core. I have used FC before and I liked it, but Ubuntu with KDE looks freaking hot, so I may go with that. (Yes, I am that shallow that I would try a distro based on desktop looks. No, you can't judge me  ).

Thank you for adding Ubuntu :D

Everah: I suggest you using Ubuntu...

You can see it in Youtube:

And more of it: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q ... rch=Search

Moreover, Ubuntu has the best forums and tutorials (almost any problem you have, they have the answer).

I probably will go with Ubuntu for my personal machine. I have to go with FC for work because it is the same platform as our enterprise environment.

I originally started out with Fedora Core 4... After having to re-install the OS 5 times, I switched to Mandriva and haven't looked back since. :)

Perhaps we should start a new poll thread and mark this one as dated because it is from 2003/2004. Too much has changed in desktop distros in that time to make the old number useful.

I couldn't agree more! Go for it as far as I'm concerned :)
