Okay, i have just installed SuSE on my laptop to test it out before i install it on my desktop.
All went well, but i haven't got a clue what to do now. I can boot up and login, but thats about it. I get a screen with some buttons at the top of the screen and some eyes that follow your mouse.
How do i load one of the GUI's like GNOME?
HELP
Thanks
Mark

You can't. This is what the Linux is intended for: WATCH YOU!Bech100 wrote:All went well, but i haven't got a clue what to do now. I can boot up and login, but thats about it. I get a screen with some buttons at the top of the screen and some eyes that follow your mouse.

i just followed the install procedute, i didn't change any setting suring the install, just let it choose the best/default setting.
Did i install KDE? i didn't choose it, i just let the installation do its thing.
Linux Boot, i get a login screen and i can login okay, then i just get a terminal window with "bech100@linux>" displaying, and some kind of menu at the top of the screen with a few buttons and some eyes that follow your mouse pointer.
Any other ideas?

That screenshot is KDE man. Install KDE if you want to use it. The window manager you see now is probably xfvm or something (is it all lime green looking?)
The fact that your computer boots up into X isn't really a good thing. And I don't know SuSe well enough to tell you how to fix it. But there is pretty much 2 ways to load X. One is with a Login Manager like KDM, GDM or XDM. The other is to edit your ~/.xinitrc file and tell it to load what window manager you want. Then you can login to the console and type startx.
