I can see why... whoever it was... is turning this into a debate over which OS is better, but twig is right... this is about BSD.
In any case, it seems to me that linux's popularity is based on user-preference. Some say it sucks, some say it's great. I've heard of the same thing with simple programs like EasyPHP and others. On some people's computers, it doesn't crash, and on others it does.
I'll find some POS box and put RH9/BSD on there, see how it goes.
