Recommendations on learning *nix?

Whether you are using Linux on the desktop or as a server, it's still good that you're using Linux. Linux related questions go here.

Recommendations on learning *nix?

Post by AngusL »

Can anyone recommend any books or sites that relate to learning to administrate *nix machines?

I've got a few Linux/BSD/Solaris machines, but I only really use them for development and they are probably a complete mess. I'd like to know how to administrate them properly - setting things up from the command line (since some of the machines are just CLI - primarily the ones I've got openMOSIX set up on with a view to dedicating them to specific tasks), how to edit the files, how to configure networking and configuration etc?

I guess basically I'm looking for any *nix resources beyond the basics really.

TIA
