I'd like one of those copies of Linux that runs entirely from a CD which you can boot from - does anyone have any the recommend?

What will you be needing it for? Do you want a GUI or CLI?

The Ubuntu Live CDs work nicely and once you're running it, if you like it, you can double click the Install icon on the desktop to install to disk.
Knoppix are the leaders of the linux Live CDs though, but I'm not sure how noobie friendly they are compared with Ubuntu.

I've always wanted to try Ubuntu - I didn't realise it ran off a CD.
So I visit this page -
http://www.ubuntu.com/products/GetUbunt ... t=download
Can I get the 6.10 release and stuff it on a CD and just go, or do I need a special 'live CD' version? They're not clear about that on the site

(Probably because the wiki and help pages are down)
Edit: Found it!
