Download Fedora virtual machine for XP/AMD 64?

Whether you are using Linux on the desktop or as a server, it's still good that you're using Linux. Linux related questions go here.

Download Fedora virtual machine for XP/AMD 64?

Post by JAB Creations »

I have VMware Player and I've used SUSE on it just fine. However I'd like to try other flavors of Linux via Virtual machines and the next flavor I'd like to try is Fedora at the moment. I'm not sure what the downloads are referred to as (you know the 700MB+ images of a Linux distro configured for a VM). If possible it'd be really nice to find a site that has links or downloads even of various Linux distros in VM format for use with free virtual machine programs such as VMware Player.

I rather enjoyed using SUSE in this scenario. Two downloads, one install, zero reboots! I also tried Kubuntu (but no Ubuntu) and disliked it for various reasons including inability to change the sound device (through the GUI). Anyway here is the tutorial page that I figured out how to make it happen in case anyone needs clarification on what I'm talking about...

http://developer.kde.org/~binner/vmware/

Also my machine specs just in case it matters...
XP Pro
AMD 64 X2 4400 (939)
2GB (no VM)
120GB
7900GT
Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum

Thanks!
