Really weird and spontaneous issue with WAMP...

I just finished booting up my laptop and when I went to start WAMP, I received a pop-up error window stating the following:
Aestan Tray Menu ----
The configuration file contains a syntax error on line 1:
[EParseError] Test is not inside a section

WTF does this mean and how in the world did this oddity occur? I was just using WAMP last night and never installed a single thing. It's making me paranoid that I have a stupid virus or something, but even then, I have a router plus a firewall...

Does anyone know what this is / what this means?

That doesn't look at all familiar. Do you recognize "Aestan Tray Menu" at all? It doesn't sound to me like it's coming from your WAMP installation at all. Can you bring up Apache? Or MySQL? The nature of the message itself sounds like it's complaining about a configuration file where it expects all directives to be contained within sections. But I've never come across "Aestan Tray Menu" before.

If that's odd, then this will blow you away...

I was looking at the first line of the "wampmanager.ini" file and the first line has so much weird crap on it that I can't seem to determine for the life of me how it got in there. There's some weird code that looks like it's from my yahoo e-mail as well as facebook.

Is this an odd-ball attack from some hacker or something? And no, I do not have any clue where the "Aestan Tray Menu" came from. What I do know, though, is that apparently, many others out there have experienced something similar as I found a lot of posts in various forums about people having weird pop up error prompts about the Aestan window...

As far as bringing up PHP and MySQL, yes, I still have access to all necessary facilities to do my work, but I have to load these up through services.msc or else double-click their respective icons within the WAMP directory tree (bin, etc.).

Do a google search on Aestan Tray and you'll find a lot of info, apparently it's a legitimate (?) program, but if you've never intentionally installed it, and with your description of the wampmanager.ini file, I'd say it looks like either a virus or a badly corrupted file. I have all the WAMP elements installed in XP, but I don't seem to have such a file at all. I think it depends on just which WAMP/XAMP or whatever package you installed.

If it were me, I guess I'd get ahold of the best virus scan software I could afford and run a thorough scan, as soon as possible. The other option would be to uninstall WAMP and start all over again, but that can be a pretty disruptive operation, and I always cringe at the thought.

Good luck.

It seemed beyond salvaging and any attempts and reloading it to normal via generic attempts negated from it's accessibility, so, I just reinstalled it with the newest version of WAMP. :)

...But it was a pain. I did a scan and everything showed up negative on virii, so I'm going to conclude that it was just an odd corruption.
