Linux ubuntu

Post by musuhasy »

Are they any wireless keyboards/mouse that will work with Linux Ubuntu? I have an old PC that I'm considering converting to Ubuntu Linux. However, I'd like to use a wireless keyboard and mouse with this computer. Are there any brands with software that will work for this?

I would assume that most will work as they are really just a wireless transceiver that connects via USB, so to the OS they are just a USB mouse and USB keyboard. I use Kubuntu 10.04 and the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop® 2.10 mouse and keyboard. Oh, and there is no software to install. You will find very few devices of any kind that provide Linux drivers so Linux detects and configures most devices auto-magically.

My $12 bluetooth mouse worked great on Ubuntu with my built-in bluetooth receiver until the mouse broke. I'm sure that other non-bluetooth devices work fine as they just appear as standard USB devices.
