Port Forwarding Error

Post by Pazuzu156 »

For the past month I have had no trouble at all with my ports. I forward 80 for my server, and people connect no problem. Well, my IP changes from .16 to .17. I forward the port to my new IP and i get the following error:

Status: Port Range Overlap with Remote Management.

What am I doing wrong? I removed the port from the old IP and changed it to work with my new IP but it won't even forward.

Either disable the Remote Management feature or change the port used bu it.
"Remote Management" means "allow access to admin panel through Internet (WAN port)", and usually it occupies port 80.

Read your router manual...

Haha, I don't have one. The guy that set everything up didn't leave us one. Know any places on the internet I can read a manual?

I've gotten no where with this. My Remote Management is set to port 8080. I even reset the router, and nothing.

Delete the "forward port" line to the previsous IP? There should be only one 80 port forwarding.

I have tried and tried and tried. :banghead: I have changed the Port from 8080 to 1 and I even disabled Remote Management through the router. Even still 80 is the only port I cannot forward because I keep getting that stupid error. I even got FTP servers running and still cannot do HTTP. I don't understand it. Please someone help me. I was forwarding HTTP for a while then one day i get this error now I can't get around it. :(

Did you try hard reseting it - there should be a small button for doing it?

Yes I have. I've done that. I've even rebooted from my Router's control panel yet I still have the error. I also unchecked all computer remote management as well as disabled my firewall and my residential shield AVG has. I even went and added the ports to my firewall in case that was blocking it(wasn't blocking I hosted port 80 before)

I don't know if this information will help you at all. I checked the router status and got this table:

Do you think if I reset my router to factory settings that the remote management error will go away?
