installing mcrypt

hello

im trying to install tine 2.0 on a webserver at my uni but i need to install mcrypt extention i also get an error message with phpmyadmin. the server has php 5.2.8 installed and Apache 2.2.10. the operating system is Slackware Linux 12.2.0.

i have followed a guide founld at this url but i dont know how to rebuild php.

i have downloaded and installed
libmcrypt-2.5.7
mcrypt-2.6.4
mhash-0.9.9.9

i uncompressed the files then when in the root folder ran these commands as per the guide:
./configure
make
make install
ldconfig

can any one help

Hi,
Just a quick comment. In the last few years I have tried downloading mcrypt and everytime I have tried to unpack it my virus checkers claimed it had a virus/trojan.
Don't know if it really has, and don't want to alrm you, but just wanted you to be aware of my experience.
